The
Start of a Beautiful Friendship?
Salutations
SubHubbers! I know I usually warm up by letting you know about the comings and
goings within SubHub. However, this month I want to start by telling you all
about an exciting new friendship with the iDevAffiliate Program.
Don't despair
-- I will still divulge information on birthdays, new features, the SubHub
Siteowners Club and the unmissable handy hint!
I Spy With My Little iDev . . .
We
have received a lot of feedback from you guys on how we could improve SubHub's
affiliate tracking. On the back of this we are currently having midnight
conversations with the guys over at iDevAffiliate.
We
need 15 of you guys to be there on day one and this will guarantee you a 50%
saving on the set-up fee and a 60% saving on the monthly hosting fee.
This
will mean you can have a kick-ass affiliate program (which we use ourselves)
for the knock-down price of $12.50 per month (non-SubHub civilians pay $30 per
month)!
If
you are interested in being one of the first 15, please get in touch ASAP. We
need to hear from you by the end of the week.
SubHub
Gossip
This month sees
two of our team grow a year wider wiser!
Please join me
in wishing Steve and Mark a very happy birthday.
They have told me that they
are more than happy to receive home-baked goods as birthday treats!
New Feature: Custom Fields
Another
new feature to come rocking and rolling out of the development cave, this
month, is the ability to add custom fields to the subscription pages.
You
can now edit an area on your subscription pages to gather tantalizing
information from your new subscribers.
Well
what do you know; there is even help on using this feature! Improved Feature: Control Panel
Firstly
I am sure you are all aware of the new-look Control Panel. We have spent some
time thinking about what it should include to give you Optimus Prime control of
your site. The new Control Panel is live now and will appear whenever you log
in to manage your site. If you have any suggestions for further improvements,
just hollah!Improved Feature: Comments The
evil spam lords are always plotting new ways to spam our sites. SubHub's recent
advance in this ongoing battle has been to improve the security around your
article comments.
You
should now be able to activate comments on your articles, without fear of
getting spammed! Score - SubHub: 1, Evil Spam Lords: 0.
Get
Involved
We
realize that you are more than interested in knowing what features we are
planning on developing next. With this in mind, we have created a forum where
we will be posting our weekly development plans and will be asking you to
comment on what features you want prioritized.
Come on over, take a look and have your say!
SubHub Site Owners Club
The
SubHub Site Owners Club has now launched!
A
few of you have been brave enough to post your profiles; it would be great to
see more of you.
We
have created this area not only to nurture the SubHub community but also to
give you usable help and advice on making your site a huge success.
If you have not yet done so, go and register - it's
free!
Monthly
Handy Hint #6 - Get Noticed!
Once
your site is up and running, the next step is to generate traffic. Here is a
useful selection of articles on how you can do this:

If
you would like to receive our 'Subscription Website Bible' on setting up and
running a website, just email me here and I will send one right over.
We want to hear
from you! Please drop me an email to tell me what you like (or don't
like) about SubHub!
So long for now!
